Breeding Datnoids?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they have never been bred and if they had im sure someone would be proud to say they have bred them

i have a big tank and have thrown in pairs of IT and NTT and will just leave them a few years to see what happens i cant garantee they are pairs but i have gone on differences i have seen with NTT some large ones have thick and some have thinner stripes i know this is no garantee but hey i have the tank space

T1KARMANN try find out exactly the water parameters where they breed. I think they might require that you do something with the water chemestry to make them breed just like bichirs.

they have been bred, but by massive captive programs involving horomones and other things like that run by the Thailand government in order to supplement the lower wild stock.

Sounds good, care to share your source for this information?

Actually I have a LFS that just got its first shipment of captive bred datnoids. I don't know a lot about datnoids but Iam fairly friendly with the owner and he seemed really excited about them. He said hey were eating well and they seemed very healthy in the tank.
