breeding for profit

I think in this day you would have to be willing to ship in order to make anything.

Crayfish. I know a guy who made about 1000 dollars a month just from crayfish. He would sell juvies to pet stores as feeders or to private customers and to schools for projects. He only like 5 pairs that constantly pumped out babies.

Something bright and colorful and aggressive. Working in a LFS I know that is by far what sells.

We sell from 5-10 yellow lab cichlids a day. Also, BN plecos sell really fast as well as fancy guppies. The guy who sells us fancy guppies gets 60 dollars every two weeks, but he has at least 6 different breeds he normally sells us.

don't trust me too much on this, but i think discus would be great for $$$

bristlenose plecos also seem to be good and they don't require as much of an investment. longfin albinos, calicos, or LF calicos would probably sell better than regular BNs or regularfin albino BNs

I know around here discus cost big bucks. A breeding pair could make some serious cash.

in my area the rock bottom price for a single discus is 35$. but in other areas i here they sell for like 15 so depending on your area you might want to try somthing else.

I usually see discus for around $80 each. Some of the bigger LFS's sell for like $50 each. But quite frequently I see them for $150 - $300.
