Breeding L200s?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If anyone has some good plecs for sale let me know! I'll post pics of the 5 new plecs later, I did get the L200 that has only 6 fully formed dots. They are currently in my wifes tank due to the unknown circumstances that my other plecos died from. All other occupants were fine. No signs of attack, but the bodies weren't properly preserved. 2 of the plecs are mustard yellows, and 3 are dark green. I haven't gotten a good sexing on them, and believe to have 3 males 2 females.

My wifes plecos are fine, mine however are being eaten by the maggots. I am trying to find out what happened to them all. It was not an attack by other fish, and water params are perfect, so thinking something got into the tank and concentrated in the algae.

Here are two of the other plecs. Currently it is very hard to get pictures of them. I will be keeping a vigil for them to poke their heads out for the next few days.

maybe it was something fed like bloodworms or something? yea that oddball L200 is quite different, will look even better when his dorsal grows back. you got some good clear pictures there! looks good!

Due to my thoughts, I bought a couple common plecs today and am going to see how they take in the tank. If all goes well I may buy a cheap fragile plec like an orange seam or bruno and see how it does. Then the move of one green phantom at a time.

in your breeding programme you guna keep the tank species only? or have other fish in there too

Other fish too, mostly just L128 for research purposes. Other than that probably something just for fun that will swim high in the waters.
