Breeding Setups

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
For the 411 Its like you are talking about fish "porn". The little white things going through maybe smaller fry that needs to be culled.

There are three main pointers for a breeding setup
1. Simple and suited to the species of fish being breed.
2. Easy to clean and monitor waste levels.
3. You have to be able to strictly monitor all that is going on in the tank with both young and adult fish.

This applys to most fish however some cichlids will do everything for you (Depending on the character of the fish).:headbang2

Some people might get into legal trouble if they show their breeding setups on computer.....

I dont think this guy was talking about fish! :naughty:

Generally, breeding setups are quite simple layouts. The less equipment you have, the easier the maintenance/cleaning job!!
For Betta, I use only a half cut styrofoam cup and some plants for the female to hide.
For goldfish, i use a couple of spawning mops
For egg scattering fish, i put the fish in a net. :)

But breeding *itself* is easy. The hard work comes when the fry hatch. Everything is about keeping good water quality and feeding.:):)
