Breeding Shrimp for LFS

you'd be surprised just ask around at your best LFS even if its not well known theres usually a club somewhere. At least one thats not far off. Hell ask around on here lots of FL guys on here.
 
the 15 gal seems like it would be perfect for me! i have a corner in the apt. i can stick it in. would work well as a tank to let fry grow out in too!
 
so how often do your crs breed? and what do you have for substrate?
 
each female seems to have babys and then get pregnant again each month. Currently have no substrate but when I get around to finishing the fish room I plan on adding black crystal quartz sand. The darker the substrate the redder they will be.
 
sweet..... so do you have any special additives to maintain the conditions? like mineralized rock or micro-organisms?
 
i use the mineral rocks but thats it. I think people over complicate things too much. They really arent that hard.
 
I agree.......when they say "mineral" rock what exactly is it? I'm wondering if i can get it without paying shipping
