Hello,

I am looking for professional opinions on what I should stock a 100 gallon tank with. I wanted to do a nice "mossy" planted tank with a carpet of grass or green at the bottom. I am looking for what type of fish I can have. I really like fancy guppies and small fish what are your thoughts?

For some reason when I saw "bright" I thought you meant intelligent. Do some neon tetras, might be a little pricey to get enough but would look awesome.

Endlers guppies

A large school of tetras. One of my favourite planted tanks at the LPS is a 300L with 100 cardinal tetras in it (and 5 wild caught discus), and the large school looks so cool in there.

African cichlids are some of the brightest (color wise) freshwater fish you can get your hands on other than GMO fish like glofish. African cichlids will munch on your plants though.

I agree, the cardinal tetras would make the aquarium really brighten up.

Some fish for you to look into, they're all very, very small.
Brachydanio tinwini
Celestichthys margaritatus
Boraras brigittae
Corydoras pygmaeus
Yunnanilus sp. 'rosy' or Tuberoschistura arakanensis
Microdevario kubotai
Hyphessobrycon amandae

I really, really like nano fish. The Yunnanilus loaches would do better than the Corydoras, because you're going for mossy, and whenever I think mossy, I think of lots of spaces where a thinner Yunnanilus would fit through, and a stockier Corydoras would have trouble maneuvering around....
You could probably get very large (30+) schools of 3 of the above species...

If you want some nice bright color go with Discus. In my opinion as close as fresh water gets to salt water fish for color. The plants will help soften the water and keep it clean. You could also then add some Clown Loaches as the heat Discus like won't bother the Clown Loaches. This is just my thought.
