But don't take my word for it. If you have access to a camera shop that will let you rent, then do that. Try it out before you buy it. I for one Like to keep with the Nikon/Nikkor theme.jevan7;4251823; said:
yeah definitely. for that reason i havent bought any off-brand lens. nobody knows their own cameras/optics better than nikon. ive read that tokina makes some pretty good lenses, but with with sigma and tamron, it will never be as good as a nikon lens. you get what you pay forhaynchinook334;4251829;4251829 said:

This is the main reason that's stopping me from getting the D700/D3s. I really enjoy this lens. 70-200mm will be the only lens I well have. And drop another 1.7k on a 24-70....I'll make my final decision after the Australia Trip this October.
