So I was on youtube lurking around and found someone used polyfill polyster filling for filter floss. I went to my local walmart picked some of that stuff up. I bought it last night and by morning I can tell you it made my water 50% cleaner. It wasn't crystal clear but I have OCD but it was a lot better.

Only drawback is that this stuff gets dirty quick. It doesn't matter for 10 bucks this will probably last me a year and I can discard the old one but many reuse it.

I used it in my sump as a prefilter

i believe this is how most people polish their waters. whether its from gravity of an overflow to a sump or like the ones that I, you, and joey showed in the video. the only issue is i run out of bottles quickly.

I use sponges mainly or some foam pads but not this stuff. I still use the sponges and now filter floss as a pre filter.

It gets dirty quick because its trapping nearly everything. Typical commercial filter pads allows for finer particles to pass through thus it appears they last longer since it takes time for the filter pads to get clogged up. If you want crystal clear, debris-free water you have to use a polishing media and replace them much, much more frequently than filter pads with larger pores.

I use Poly-Fil (pillow stuffing) in all my canister filters

Polyfil is very good and can even be used in pads....I bought some screen fro HomeDepot and sewed pockets, filled with polyfil and sewed closed...when they "pillows" got dirty, since they were contained within the screen material, I was actually able to rinse and reuse...

Best way for crystal clear water.
Very cheap stuff. I'm using this stuff on every tank.

I use Polyfil as well. Buy from Michael's Craft Store with the weekly 40-50% coupon and you don't have to support Wal-Mart :)

Well this was 11pm at night and about a quarter mile away from my house so its really convenient for me.

I wanted to go to Joann or Michaels craft but they were closed but when I run out I will go to them. Why not support wal-mart though?
