You are bang on!!!! I already had to move them from the tank in the photo to a 90 gallon as they were biting my pregnant stingray. So now they are with 5 Cichla monos and 2 red bay snook. They are even taking shots at the monos. Time for them to go maybe as three of my tanks have rays.ArttyFish;4711710; said:Please keep your eye on them as well as look for damages to the other fishes. Mine were so evil and they harasses and picked on anything that would not stand up for itself. They do swim all day long and all night so that is cool to see movement in the tank, but for the aggression, I could not wait to get rid of these fishes from my tank. The damages to my other fishes was not worth seeing. Im sorry about this negative example of Brycons, they are cool fishes, but from my experience with them. Watch out for the sake of your other fishes.![]()
I was debating if I should try them in my 450 gallon. The only problem is I have a 15" Armatus, 2' Black arowanas and rays. The Brycon Dentex are only about 6 to 7". If I did try I probably wouldn't be able to rescue them in time if the Armatus grabbed them! LOL Decisions, decisions? They cost me $50 each!ArttyFish;4711751; said:Yeah Tman sorry about that. Man I only wish they have better attitudes. They are beautiful fishes. IMO a Vittatus ATF would be a better choice for you, they swim around all day, they look nice and they are very tolerable with tank mates.
Well as long as tankmates dont look to closely to them meaning long , slender and silvery and shiny. VATF dont like silvery shiny fishes that resembles themselves
