They seemed plentiful a couple years back in the twin cities.... My big one is the last of a group of 4 that were consumed by Gulpers, all fish came from that really "great" guy Shawn. The smaller guy came from a local fish store up there in the cities. They even had a monster there traded in but it was before my big tank was up and going.
Apparently they aren't all that common though, I remember Krichardson saying he's been looking a really long time and has never found any. IF I'm not mistaken they appeared as "Equadorian Barracuda" on Shawn's list, so I'd think John at east coast could get them......

Mine were labeled sabalo barracuda....Rapps has another larger growing species, brycon guatemalensis, that he's selling for $15. I may grab a couple to grow out.
