IME brycon are easier to keep than dorado because of size and less aggression. There are some species that cohab very easily in a community and some that are a little bit trickier. They're territorial, especially towards silvery fish but they often school and mine shoal with my bbsd

I agree...while you have some species that are more aggressive brycons are omnivores, with some species eat fruits and nuts only, Dorado are predators. Brycon Hilarii eat mostly fruits and nuts and school well together and they get quite big. I learned with brycon usually a cohab is possible if you have a predator in the tank thats more aggressive than them and you have plenty of swimming space.
