Tried covering half of it to help heat it and keep humidity in. Not sure its going to work because the water is still about 8-10" from the plastic. Hmmm

Does this drain being almost straight impede on the potential flow rate of the pipe? I had way less water coming in than a 1.5" can handle and it wasnt draining nearly fast enough.

Wellll, i maaaay downgrade to a 150 gallon stock tank due to heat reasons in the cold basement. Its still plenty of space for turtles. I dont know yet. : (

How cold in your basement?

The water temp in my 300 gallon is around 74F and the basement is at 75. It's sitting straight on the concrete floor.
