Still without the lid, 79.7 this morning. I think im going to try and build a lid after all. Its just so hard to make flush with all those notches in the tank. Any ideas?

I tried the foam board. And i really like that option, it just sucks trying to get a flush cut because the dimensions of where its going are smaller than the top rim.

Question about baby turtle feeding.

I see a lot of people suggest taking your turtles out and putting them in a small container to feed. Not only is this hard with a 300 gallon stock tank and babies, but wouldnt that stress them out?

What if i made a donut shaped floating circle out of styrofoam insulation to put the floating pellets in? And kept it in the same spot so they become familiar with where the food is?

You have plenty of water volume, feeding in the tank shouldn't be prohibitively messy. Just make sure not to overfeed.

You mentioned your air temperature was as low as 66 - What is your basking temperature?
