Building a 1500 Gallon plywood & glass tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Wow, that is truly impressive. I keep turtles myself, and was completely unfamiliar with plywood tanks before reading this. Following your build has really given me the answer to the limitation of commercial glass tanks, and the confidence that I can build something similar.

How is the FRT working out? I know it is sometimes difficult to keep two of them together due to aggression, so I'm wondering how this one is holding up against all the fish. Also, I've never heard of anyone keeping turtles and rays together, so I'm interested in that as well.

Thanks for the great build, and lets see some more pictures!

Thanks,

FRT is doing great in there with everyone. The rays make him nervous a bit, but generally they don't mind each other at all.

I doubt she would if you did it as well as VLdesign. Congrats on the Turtle man ! I am sorry I could not help more finding you one. Seems my old San Francisco guys are much less inspired these days I went by there shop that used to be flawless and it looked horrible :irked:

Reread a bunch looks perfect man flawless completion. Do you have any shots of the wet dry and or mechanical photo's ? I love those pics :)
