i am building a contrete 6x4x3 tank with 1 side glass viewing in my garage. Know any companies that do this sort of thing? located in ontario, canada. so i will be getting some very nice asian aros for it. thinking a super red, some RTG. Which are more aggressive and which should i try? will a 9 RTG be good? how many watts for heater? type of filter? btw it will be -30 degree celceius outside in winter.

wow man...just make sure its an external heater so no accidents happen to ure asians....since ure custom building a tank please try and make it 8' in length AT LEAST. thats like the benchmark length for an arowana. everything else is perfect. super reds are the creme of the crop...if ure a first timer maybe try RTG first. if u manage to make ure tank 8' in length u can buy more than one. good luck ;)

8ft? O.O thats wayyy too much for me, max i can get is 6ft i have another 4ft in my house but my plan is now put a super red in my 4ft and the PG and green i have will be comm in the 6ft to try with other species, what do u mean external heater?

as in dont get a heater where the actual generator is in the water cause ure fish can get fried....ok fine 6 feet should be fine but just dont put too many arows in there...if u ask me 3 is perfect...seems crazy but when they grow to full size ull know wat i mean dawg. peace ;) SoUthSide

I also have to agree, the width is fine, but you coulduse a little more length.

If youre going to get it custom made try to get a conrete sump put behind it, that way you can store any extra hardware in there (heaters, UV sterilizers etc etc).

With asian arowana comms, you want to go 5 or more fish. With a pair, one will end up killing the other, with three they will get picked on until there only one left, four is just a bad luck number, and five usually the aggression is dispersed enough to have minimal damage and injury to your fish... i'd opt for 6+ though.

8 feet would be perfect... but i'd say if u can only afford 6 den keep the fish community down... asians grow big... the other specifications are fine... but if u can afford an 8... i'd say wow... beautiful... post up some pics soon man...

some guys recommend me to have a 5ft sump,, thats pretty huge to me, can i just get a eheim professional that can support 600g? by external heater you mean something that attaches to the canister filter and heats it that way b4 being pump back into the tank?
