  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
What is the black circle in the middle of the pond at night?

For now thats an island where the turtle can get out of the water. I have a large driftwood stump I am going to put in for him, but I want to make sure all of the tannins are bleached out before I put it in.

ok the projector did it for me, I'm moving in. Hell I'll stay outside with the pleco. You seem to have one too many blondes anyway.

Goldies look good, any stock ideas yet?

Na, I think I will wait until spring to see how the winter goes. I am actually liking the comets, they really warmed up to people quickly. They follow everyone up and down the deck and will come right up to your hand.

Finally got around to finishing the trickle tower this week. I built the spillway last week so just needed to line the box and fill it up.

First went in a net in case the media needs to come out, then a 24,000ft roll of 1/4" poly strapping.

I stopped and picked up the last box of line the tackle shop had been collecting for me. I can't even guess how many thousands of yards they were able to collect.

Then came a layer of the straws from last spring, and a layer of about 30 gallons of bioballs I had picked up off craigslist.

Cleaning out the attic I came across the old undergravel plate that came with my 125, I thought it was a fitting use for the old guy as a drip plate.

For the spray bar I notched a piece of 4" pvc to spread the water without adding to much head pressure.

For the top layer I am using a layer of egg foam for now as a mechanical filter.

The local newspaper had a DIY contest and one of the entries was for watergardening/yard project so Kate sent in an entry. If we happen to win there is a $500 prize which would be fun.
