In the first couple of pics you can see I'm running a 36watt Coralife turbo twist off the odyssea powerhead. Fits like a glove.

thanks for the tip...I already ordered the UV from aquatraders its a 18watt, was only $40...hopefully it fit perfect with the odyssea powerhead...samebrand.:naughty:

They are Odyssea powerheads. Aquatraders sell them. The attachments contain 2 reticulated foam cylinders with a plastic internal sleeve to help spread out suction surface area. These are by far the best powerheads I've ever used and I've tried them all. One powerhead alone picks up 4x as much as a aquaclear 110 filter.
Sup J. I was thinking of getting another powerhead for H2O movement. You think the Odyssea 550 will be too much for my 55 long? Im already running a marineland rated at 300gph. Is the odyssea PH flow adjustable? If not, maybe a Odyssea 350? lmk. I need some expert advice from somebody who uses them.
thanks

The 55o should be fine, its adjustable. Current is great for building strength in dats and encouraging growth but I have noticed that more current=less stability. The main focus is to have more bio and mechanical filtration than current. These powerheads provide both because of the attachments. You really should buy the generic aquaclear attachment for your marineland and ditch the foam square.

i have a pretty stupid question
i was thinking of getting into dats and was wondering do they need salt or what cause i always see them with brackish fish like ur archers

btw great tanks

ive had 4 UV from aquatraders before, they all ended up leakin for some reason, not the hose connection part , but the main tube..... dunno, good luck wit urs....

and datnoid101... ur dats r just -____- got no word to describe em, u have so many xD i only have 4 indos rite now :| and only one of em is stable...

Only NGT and AT dats come from brackish waters but both will do just fine in full fresh. My dats and all my archers(one fresh species and 2 brackish species) all live in full fresh and have been so for years.

Thanks bro. One thing most people forget that the smallest dat in my main 180g is 8"+. At one time I had 111 dats but sold some due to bills. I'd like to break a 100 again. LOL!

No. The foundation is solid and I still have one more double rack to setup. Next I'll see if I can squeeze in my 240g and my 360g in the same room. If not I'll have to set it next to the other tanks that are scattered everywhere.

I went to Pets Plus, but the generic attachment didn't fit when we tried to put it on the marineland PH that I have. So, I'll probably go pick up the 350 or 550 PH. Is the flow adjustment similar to the aquaclear PH? Thanks man.
