Building first pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I also have 3 regular goldfish at about 3/4lb each, maybe a little bigger. They are freakin huge! The tilapia and goldfish all swim around together like one happy family.

Golden trout are the best of both worlds-pretty like koi but are native game fish.

If you or someone you know can catch me some, I'll buy them. :-) I go fishing every weekend and catch everything under the sun, but like I said...trout do not like me for some reason.

Some progress....it's getting there. I framed out the floating deck and need to finish it with the composite decking I bought. Still need to add more river stone, flowers, aesthetics, etc.

Went fishing this morning for the pond using some tiny hooks for an hour and brought back the following: 15 spot (4-8 inches), 3 white perch (5-8 inches), 1 pumpkinseed/bluegill (5 inches).

I had another 8 perch and spot that didnt make it, which went in the freezer for bait for some rockfish and catfish next time.

Went fishing today and caught these huge catfish, I put 3 of them in the pond, unfortunately, the others are going to be dinner.2013-09-07 13.01.42.jpg2013-09-07 14.41.06.jpg2013-09-07 14.41.27.jpg2013-09-07 14.41.41.jpg

Thanks fish.

I may order some stuff from here today. They will be delivering by truck to my area this weekend! They have rainbow trout, LMB, perch, walleye, bluegill, channel cats, etc.

I may put some rainbow trout in a tank in my basement. He said they grow fast, especially when feeding them 4 times a day and the water is 70 degrees or under.
