Building first pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you still want some ideas on shrubs and other plants. Dwarrf japanese maples always look great be hind the water fall. Perrenial hibiscus are a beautiful flower you can do inside of outside the pond.

Sorry, I've been busy traveling to warm climates during this cold weather. Now that Spring is here I am enlarging the pond and making the shapre more round/oval with a bigger waterfall. I'll get pictures once I start!

The pond has been dug out and is pretty big now. It's 25x20. I need to order the pond liner now. I have found white pvc in 50mil I am thinking about vs the 45 mil epdm.

I got the 45 mil epdm delivered. I put down padding and then I just put this tarp down over that, not that it will do much but just for an extra 4mil of protection under the liner. I may do a layer of fabric tarp which is really thick before I put the epdm down. It's coming along.

Your pond came out looking great! I'd love to have one that size. How do all of your fish and turtles get along?
