Building My 1000 Gallon Plywood Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
OMG, your my hero for taking that kind of leap! What's your budget on this colossal build?

Thanks lol ,

So far I've spent about 4 thousand without fish . I did not go cheap with any of the materials so I kinda spent a lot. Plus the height made it a lot more expensive .

I'll post up some new pics soon :)

I feel really bad about having the be the "neigh-sayer" at this point in your build but the AC70 filter from your 10g tank isn't going to cut it for your new tank!

Seriously though what are your plans for filtration? I love the Hayward EC40 that I link to in my signature.

Very nice job!

P.S. A good fiber glass job turns out practically invisible.

Thanks,
Lollll you are right surprisingly my 10 gal tank's filter wasn't enough . I actually have a 100 gallon wet/dry sump that i made with bio balls and I also have a canister filter running. It's getting about 5 times turnover right now. I have a 4200 gph pump for sump and a 1200 gph for the canister. I also have a uv light hooked up with the canister.

I will probably add a fx5 later and most likely will add a drip system soon.

I keep forgetting to take some pics of the filtration as soon as I do I'll post ;)

U guys have any ideas for stocking this thing I'm still not too sure.

Thanks
