Yes I have owned Uaru.

Just the common Uaru amphiacanthoides. From 1999 to 2008. I like the fish but overall for longer life they probably need softer water (Mine is 7.43).
I did have one that was 12" long and he bred in the 15,000 tank. They actually had fry they were herding around for about a week. When they had the fry they were chasing some pretty tough fish away from them including my 22" Parachromis dovii it was interesting.

hellow and what a amazing job!!!!! props to you !!!!!!!! i have a problum you might be able to help me with i hope !? i have an 220 gallon tank it now only contains one fish a very large niger cat! i've had him about 6years he ar she is about 28'' long too big for my tank. i would like to know if you could take this fish off my hands? for the fishess sake, if thats not possible i'll understand maby you know somebody that could?? tks. for your time.
 
I really thank you for your offer. The Oxydoras niger is an awesome fish.

I can not take you up on the offer though as I already have 5 in this tank ranging from 36" to 42".

Dan the Fish Man (Toronto, Guelph and Schomburg) is going to build a large tank soon perhaps he might want it to go with his 2 Arapaima arapaima. Although he is a fantastic african fish hobbyist/breeder he also loves big fish.

Glad you enjoy my tank and are planning a big tank also.

Will it be fresh or marine?

Your costs will not be the same as mine in any way since I built this tank 18 years ago and we do not live in the same country.

The only way to really find how much it will cost is to either have contractors give quotes or price it out piece by piece in your state.
