Just was curious if anyone buys Bulk foods, and more spcifically Krill? Where do you get these? Secondly, I know some people on here buy packaged silversides, my question is, is there any small market fish that you buy that would be a whole lot cheaper then the LFS, if so what do you buy? Thx, in advance.....

I have to go to the Mexican store in a couple days. They sell freeze dried shrimp and as long as they are unflavored, I am going to get some. Silversides are pretty cheap, but I will look for cheaper options at Mexican/Asian stores. I think my Koren friend tried to get me to eat Krill Fries once haha.

if it was just dehydrated squid, I know some fish that would like that
I buy bulk foods from jehmco.com and kensfish.com.If youve been buying food at the petstore or petsmart,youll be stunned at the prices.

In fact, look at my current avatar for December 2006...It shows frozen perch that I bought for less than $3 at the Asain Supermarket....For the past 10 years I have been raising and breeding carnivourus fish...People save LOTS of money by buying at the local markets....PLus the variety available is healthy for your fish....

frozen raw shrimp from walmart or the grocery stores.shrimp for people.
i peel them,then cut it into small and large chunks.
then i put a nights worth in each section of an ice cube tray.
then i just thaw a cube a day.
all my fish but the bass eat it.
4 bucks and it lasts over 2 weeks so far.
i just hope no one puts one in there drink

go to your grocery store and look in the frozen food aisle for "smelt" smelt=silversides plus the ones that I get at the store are bigger and cheaper.. for shrimp I just buy bulk uncooked uncleaned shrimp and I feed them whole.. if they dont have any shrimp they have "bait shrimp" in the frozen food aisle these are just smaller whole unccoked shrimp for pellets I buy purina aquamax 500 and aquamax 300 canivore pellets I get 50 lbs for abotu $30 at just about any feed and grain store....
