Bull Shark Pond

you could try an aquaculture for food approach then you may get money for heating. talk to the people of the dnr were you are about aquaculture. they may even have links to some fish. my state does. sharks might not be on the list, but other fish that have a high reproduction rate may be and you could then access the pirmits to get them for said pond.

Another great idea. This actually reminds me that a buddy of mine had the Conservation Department stock his pond and they did it for free. I'm thinking if I can get them to stock my pond for free and then if I set up an automatic fish feeder to fatten them up for a season or two, I might be able to supply enough food for the bull. I'll have to look into reproduction rates to see how long it would take the fish to breed.

large amounts of bluegills would be your best bet. they spawn several times a year. i am going to be doing the same thing for my pond. it would be the only way i could get lake sturgeon for it and they are my favorite fish of time!

If you spend about $10,000 I'm sure you could produce enough electricity through solar to power equipment to both heat and agitate the water. Whether they will be able to live from life to birth non-salt is an issue, maybe rear it in a smaller salt set-up and roll the dice? ha

you could try to talk to a shark fisherman to go on a boat.expedition to obtain one since any place selling them got.it just like that (maybe with out the fisherman) could be fun! i remember one time i wanted a fish and i just asked a fisherman if i could be taken out and to obtain.some.of his 'throw backs '

Hi- The Minnehaha Creek thing was a joke. It is not true. I loved that story, as I spent a lot of my childhood at Lake Pepin.

Bull sharks have been caught as far north in the Mississippi as Alton Illinois.
Your pond is worth a try, but it is likely a shark from salt water would not acclimate well to the no salt pond, and die.

Im sure if you find some fishing charters or sw aquarium that uses divers to catch fish locally you could get a bull. The problem lies in moving it. A new born or extreme juv could be shipped air cargo. Anything else no way.
