theres none in my local lake and there r no shops that sell em'

You have brown, black and yellow bullhead in Colorado, same as in New York. Are the chin barbles pale or dark in color? If they are pale it's a yellow bullhead. If they are dark its a black or brown.

its kinda hard to tell...some are pale and some are really dark
