Sorry, late night eyes...It should read:
Do you freeze the rats before they get mites and things like that?

I have a nephew that lost his big RTB to rats he bred for it, because of mites and different parasites on the live food.
So now he freezes the rats prior to using them for his other snakes. He defrosts them in a container then feeds them...

i have been bitten by alot of snakes, not moose yet. my yellow anaconda bites me on almost a daily basis. i let them bite as much as they want, then pick them up that way it shows them i am still going to pick them up and not hurt them, it seems to work really well.

Looks like he likes the computer screen.

That is good method of "training" them-if you want to call it that. If they see that snapping at you doesn't deter you from handling them, they should become much less inclined to do it. I wish other people at the pet store I worked at treated the snakes like that. The juvie ball pythons are pretty quick to snap at you because it does deter most people from messing with them. One of them hit me right after I fed them and if it weren't for the girl (a fellow employee no less) that screamed at the top of her lungs, I wouldn't have flinched, but that scream made me jump about a foot lol. I had about 30 pin holes in my thumb, but it didn't hurt in the least. Some people even handle them with gloves and are extremely on edge, so no wonder they strike. I'm very aware, but not the least bit scared and that's the one time I've been touched. A little common sense when handling them goes a long way...

Nice burmese. We just got one a little smaller than that at the shop I work at a few weeks ago. He is a great snake, super docile. Hopefully the $200 price tag will keep the idiots from buying him and he can go to a responsible owner.
