Burms and...Arows?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah the BCC's are nice but I think the BCI are a bit more rugged; I've seen some BCC that were nearly as picky as a WC ball python.

I gave up on aquariums for herps, honestly. Probably because I was keeping bigger stuff (monitors, tegu, retic) and I could build an enclosure to suit me & save some cash. There are some nice commercial snake cages made with pvc, boaphile is one of them and I think there's some others, check out the classifieds on kingsnake.com.

Very nice aro's & burm, that burm's in nice shape; I've seen so many overfed bulked-up burms. I want to get another snake, it's been a few years...I really miss my retic, I might try to get hold of one of the dwarf retics. I love their personality/attitude, but a normal retic is A LOT of snake...

Thanks CTU2Fan....I saw a retic today at the SA Zoo that was truely immense. I couldn't beleive how massive it was. I have no idea what length it was, but he was as thick as a telephone pole at minimum and, even coiled up, would make my burm look like a earthworm. Retics are mad huge but very beautiful animals. And I ,know burms get large too at 20 feet. Everyone has the albino burms seems like the "regular" burms are not in demand but in my opinion the brown, black, tan and white colors with the rainbow colors are awesome.

I am much like you in that I like the "regular" morph snakes more than the "designer" ones. Especially the BP's.......man they are just about as nice a snake as one could want color and pattern wise (a little too small for me thoughLOL!).

Totally agree. Give me a normal burm or ball or boa, or a nice yellowhead locale of retic. Everybody seems high on the albino burms & tiger retics but I'm not wild about any of the morphs.

My retic was about 12' when I had to give her away (moving), she was maybe a year old. Never bit, which was pretty impressive especially for a WC one, but she'd look at you sometimes like she was considering doing it. Very very cool snake, and more active than the burms & BCI I've kept.

Man that's a beautiful snake...the fish too; I like fish, but I'm definitely more of a snake person these days. I've thought about getting a Burm but of course size is prohibitive. Maybe one of the dwarf retics if I can convince my fiancee, but no Burmese.

How old is the snake now?

And the cage under the stairs: sweet :)
