I was thinking, (and am just throwing this out there) about starting some sort of childrens party/ other event exotic animal party service. You know, like where they bring out different species and talk and etc?
Anyone have any idea on how to start something up like that? Or what kind of things would be good for it?

So far i was thinking of using
a couple of big asian water monitors i was planning on getting anyway, a croc monitor (Definitly not one for the kids to be touching ) Some sort of large snake, I was thinking of a yellow anaconda, because they are big and exotic, but stay small enough for a couple people to handle, along with a sulcata and a giant plated lizard( seeing as i already have those two)

I was thinking of including a few exotic mammals if i could get the permits... Specifically an armadillo and sloth, (both of which i know where to get, but need permits, etc)

Good idea?
Bad idea?

i'd say it's a great idea, but i wouldn't bring a croc monitor anywhere near small children, lol unless it's a baby. they would be safe at a distance though.

i used to bring a bunch of herps to a local school for second graders every week and they loved it.

yea i'd get a couple more smaller large snakes like a columbian red tail or a green tree boa. also, i'd get a dwarf cayman, keep his mouth taped shut while handeling him he should be fine

I was planning on keeping on a harness that can't reach the kids if its not really bitey/jumpy, or in a cage on wheels if it was.. :)
Thats one of the reasons i was big on the sloth and armadillo. Both are petable, and neither can really attack you. Moreso the sloth. You can basically handle wild sloths and be fine, let alone hand raised.

I'd totally do a caiman if i could get permits
In socal.
Now that I think of it i'd get a gator snapper if i could get an educational permit..

There are people here (So Cal) that do this. I don't know how busy they stay though.
I would offer it to schools for free 1st and see how it goes.

Id say go for it, but I dont think you could make a living out of it, I personally would add a bearded dragon to the list.

make it a hobby, not a career.
