Buying a old tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
while making the brace, can I glue pieces together to get the 1/2'' thickness? The cost of getting custom glass cut is too much.

I want to buy an old tank and cut out the brace then silicon glue the pieces together to get the required thickness.

Thoughts?

Look for glass shelves or glass table tops on amazon. Thats what i did for my 150, found an 18"x18" 1/2" thick glass table top for like $30 and used that. Its durable and can support lights and other equipment on top of the tank.

Im not a huge fan of doing what youre describing. Will probably just end up being messy and ineffective. Whole lot of extra work too.

Heres a thread where i refurbished an old craigslist tank (the aforementioned 150) using cost friendly methods including the table top brace.
