Buying dithers TODAY, can TINFOIL BARBS handle 87-88 temps?!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have four large red hooks and a large flagtail and they all work very well together and look very good as well! I plan to bump to eight red hook and five black band silver dollars next week.

I dont know what the others are talking about but tinfoils dont do well with high temps especially once they get bigger. Go with silver dollars or even giant danios if you dont care that they will eventually go down.

Don't get tin barbs, they are wussies and can't handle a beating. Get silver dollars, they go great with Cichla, handle the high temps and are found in the same waters. IMO IMO

I can't take the fighting anymore with my pbass, Have a 6-pack of WC Yucao Orinos, all around 4.5, 5.0 inches.

The alpha male is beating on every bass except 1 whenever the lights are on in the tank.

My LFS just received a shipment of tinfoil barbs. They said there between 2-3 inches each.

I wanna give it a shot, I want to get some TODAY, how many should I get? I only have a 90-gallon tank, I only want them for dithers.

My biggest questions are :

Will the tinfoils be able to live in water between 86-88 degrees? Thats what I am keeping my bass at, and will they be able to live on Hikari sinking carnivore pellets?! I am NOT USING ANY OTHER FOOD that may throw my bass off the pellets.

Please any replies would be great, I have 1 foot out the door, I want to go and get these guys ASAP.

Water quality will not be a problem, I have the tank filtered with 2 Eheim Pro 2078e Canisters, and have lots of air/current with an AquaClear 70 Power-head, plus I do DAILY 50 to 80% water changes. Tank is bare no gravel no plants nothing.

Have you thought about trying driftwood and rocks to help with your dithers? Giant danios are fast and if you had some rocks and driftwood would stay alive alot longer and keep your pbass guessing.

looks like the op has given up on this thread
