Damn! I figured it'd be a nationwide thing, since the stores are nationwide.

That's insane!

I would have thought same thing as in NY they were $1 each also but the Petco in my area only has pet type mice (black/white) will never sell feeders and Petsmart wont even carry them.

Meanwhile local farm sells big chickens for $4 -$6 to big snake keepers . My snakes wont eat chickens lol.

just find someone who has male and female mice and just wait. score two for free lol.

i stole some of my brothers baby mice the breed them. worked for a while. then i got sick of the smell lol

When my collection was larger (8 our 14 snakes eating rats), I tried breeding them. Dear Lord, was it horrible...my little "breeding program" didn't last too long, after 90% of the people that walked into my house, said "OMG! What is that smell?!?!" lol!

I'm glad out of all my snakes, only one is small enough to need mice.

Now that, you can't beat! I think RodentPro is the best out there...but, like others have said, kinda hard, when you only have one herp.

le patron, have you thought of feeding pre killed? Find a local store that sells live mice cheap. Kill them before giving to your snake and you wont have to worry about shipping costs, from online retailers or the over pricing of your local places selling frozen.

Petco sells live mice for .99 each. I have an Australian Water Python, that's barely pushing 24", that wont eat frozen. Pre killed is how I feed her, every 4 days.
yeah well its 10 bucks at my local petsmart for 4 frozen pinkies. petco is too far away for me to go once a week. i'm just going to buy in bulk at the expo

Yeah, mice stink. In comparison rats aren't bad at all...granted if you don't keep them clean they'll get nasty, but when kept clean they're fine. Nothing like that horrid pissy smell you get with mice.

Its funny how the prices on mice/pinkies are different in chain pet stores from state to state .

I would have never thought that till moved here that such a difference in price .

make sure they are co2 gassed

Look for local reptile conventions, they're all over the North east, I don't know where you are but there are many frozen rodent dealers there and you get many more for your money. ( no shipping costs)
