buying marbled crayfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
People look at these guys as pests. What if this IS the solution to world hunger??? LOL

i just bought three off of marbled Crayfish.com and they got here yesterday, and they are very active and healthy, and eat a lot, you'd be surprised!!!!!

I actually got lucky enough to find some in a local pond last month, while dipnetting for daphnia... At first I didn't realize what it was, so I just tossed it into the aerated bucket, and went about my business... When I got home, and SAW that it was a Marmokreb, I IMMEDIATELY got back up to the pond, and collected a few dozen, in minutes... They live amongst the detritus at the bottom of the pond, attached to the algae blooms... Needless to say the Longears I have at home, have been regularly gorgeing themselves on them, and I have (3) left in a 30 gallon, that are growing like crazy! I'm sure it'll be berry time soon!!!

I was selling .5"-1" marbles for $1 a few months back. wait awhile and you'll find another good deal like that. shoot i'll be selling some more in two months. takes about 3-5 months to get to breeding size. 12 for $100 that's ridiculous. just my opinion

Yeah, some websites cashed in early. Good for them, this is America. I have some ready for sale now.

$2 a piece seems to be the going rate these days. I have 70ish ready now and another 3 litters ready in a month.
Thanks!

I have marbles and they have babies like crazy. I have babies now. They are always pregnant. You will love them. They do this thing where they swim backwards and jet around the tank.

buying from aquabid is much cheaper yo~
crayfish is hard to die they can survive with little water so
dont ship overnight
it is costly and stuipd

Holy Ancient Thread Batman! I blame Great Basin Benji for digging up fossils. :grinno:

Any specific places to find them at $2 each? Other than the rare open auction for 20 of them or something on Aquabid (which is usually bid up beyond $2 each), they are usually listed for $5 or more each. I looked around for a couple weeks before I finally got bored waiting for a deal and pulled the trigger on 6 for $45 shipped.
