His colors are awesome. Maybe a darker substrate would encourage even more color?

Dark substrates make Dovii's colors really pop.. I can vouch for that

I'd really like to see this one with some black sand or gravel. He'd purple up like Grimace.

It's been a while since I've had black substrate. I still have some in storage. The only thing I don't like is that the dark substrate makes the tank look smaller imo.

Well, it appears you got a better deal than originaly percieved. I thought you were trading all those fish JUST for the dovii. Thats great that you got all that other shiznal!

Thanks you guys. I am totally happy with the purchase. There seems to be mixed opinions on the deal I got. Two trade in fish were high quality Jeff Rapps fish, the Lyonsi wasn't from Rapps but still very beautiful. The lfs got a good deal. They can probably sell each of the cichlids for almost the same as they were asking for the Dovii. Plus the girl said she never saw such nice big Redhook Silver Dollars as mine before...and as previously stated, they were asking crazy money for little tiny redhooks.

It's ok....when I woke up this morning and saw my Dovii's smiling face, I knew all is good.

I kept the Grammodes cuz I like him a lot. The other fish weren't as endearing. The 4" female Grammy is in with the big Dovii and she swims all around him no prob.

yeh man theyre funny tho, they litterally just do a circuit of the tank and what ever they come across try to start a fight with it lol, the only reason they werent doing this as much in the vid is because i had just fed them.
