C.E. Intermedia

Great information Cichlidgeek. Yea I wasn't the confirming Id'er so I don't think I would have paid for them had I been. Of course we have no control over the Bad Practices being called deals in the Cichla world. But like I said you win some you loose some. At this point it would just be nice to pinpoint an exact location for the future buyer. At least be able to give them an accurate sp. The oppurtunity I was not giving.

For those of us who have been keeping Cichla for more than 15 years (me since 1995) it goes without saying that "if it seems too good to be true then it probably is too good to be true." I remember when temensis was a BIG DEAL. Orinocensis was unheard of, and so on and so on. You have seen my photos and read my posts no doubt. No sense in repeating the nonsense again.

I don't know the whole story on these "intermedia" that recently arrived, but I do know that true intermedia are almost impossible to keep alive due to their super high oxygen demands. Something to keep in mind if you ever get the real deal. Remember where they come from!! That said, many of the ones that I have seen collected died before reaching the export station. More FYI. Good luck in your Cichla keeping!! :)

mike, did you get the message/picture i sent you on fb?

thanks for the condolences, everyone. btw, the pix of the dead fish are the xingu on top and 2 "intermedia" on the bottom and the last two pix (the live fish), one is an orino and the other is one of the "intermedia"

That is great information for sure. I do remeber reading through the old thread's. So yes I do understand. I appriciate the insight as well in regards as to trying to obtain them. I have heard a lot of horror stories about the intermedia. I will have to remember the O2 if it ever really happens. LOL Cause as we all know I am going to keep trying just have to teach the importers the importance of getting it right and at least be honest and up front about NOT BEING ABLE TO GET THEM. Thank you again for the info I am sure I will be hitting you with a few PM's with pics in the future. I AM STILL ON THE HUNT!

Yes sir I got it. It's all good man. No one to blame either way. We have been doing this long enough to know thing's like this happen. I was skepticle when I got the price tag but as alway's (as you know) I am alway's down at any oppurtunity. That turn's out to be a good thing and a bad thing sometime's. :naughty: But I will keep faith on the resale of these. I am sure it won't be hard to find someone who want's to buy some CICHLA! :headbang2

Besides we should really blame ourselves. We were so patient for over 2 yrs and it was about time we blew some more cash on chance. :grinno:  Besides you know I will throw rocks at a hill if I can make a mountain. Trying to make somethin outta nuthin.

inters are also prone to HITH as well. i think it has to do with the water quality being so good in which they were collected from.
everyone that ive seen before in captivity has had HITH weather it be alot or a little

OH man I love mystery Cichla sometime. Ok THESE ARE NOT TEM'S. Not intermedia but I HOPEthey are what I think they are.

New twist to the plot? Do tell..... sounds very cool

Hm, I'm not that great at id'ing young cichla but I thought tems should keep the horizontal bar for a little longer so I can see where this just got more interesting... but I'll be honest I have no idea what they are turning out to be lol...they look good though
