C.E. Intermedia

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Will do for sure at the most I couldn't see but one in my tank and I don't even want that. I wouldn't mind another Pinima but in the end not even the Zoo is really enough room for an adult to thrive.

Sorry to hear this....thats a kick in the balls.
yep. I was sure the exporter was going to give us what they were supposed to. Losing the Xingu is terrible and money down the drain that I shouldn't have spent in the first place.

Yea this is pretty much confirmation. STILL ON THE INTERMEDIA HUNT! I was warned but we took a chance anyway. Paul sorry to hear about the bad news bro it sucks big time I know. Especially about the Xingu.

Well so now this not the C.E. Intermedia thread just plain ole TEM's. I trust me I ABSOLUTLY didn't want Tem's. Sucks that there not what we were looking for but double suck that there exactly what I do not need in my collection.
yeah, now that 3 spots are confirmed, i'm not really upset about losing the tems as I don't want another one, either, but losing the Xingu really sucks. You can see the three spots in both the dead ones and the one that's still alive due to its condition. Hopefully you'll be able to sell me one when they get bigger. IDK if I can deal w/ the little guys right now due to my situation. I'm hoping they survive, but I'm going to have to get rid of them. You can have this orino if it makes it...no sense in having a tank for just one fish. We'll talk about the one Rio Orinoco orino and the Guyana ocel.

hey let me know if you're selling the Tems then, i'll buy them.
Well, if the remaining one of mine survives and heals up, I'll be getting rid of it. I love tems, but can't deal w/ one right now.

Hey Paul that's to bad bro hate to see that:(

Last time I grabbed Temensis from the local Pet Store they were $9 for 3" This was a "real men of genious " for me. Too bad I bought 3 plus shipping. Greed got me! Shame on me! " Stupid is stupid does Forest!"

These wont be that cheap that for sure. These aré W/C. And And the fact that I will be the seller so size will be an issue real soon.

Ok back to the mystery Cichla. Even with the shot's of Paul's deceased Cichla I am still scratching my head. I have raised mystery cichla before and lost them in the end but they turnerd out beautiful.

So here is the low down. Out of the four I bought I have one who will call "Feeder" this is because he is a REAL runt. He was smaller then the Xingu when they came in???????? So this brought a question to mind? When have any of us who have raised many different Cichla fry (not alway's by choice) ever seen a Tem's fry remain this small for this long? I originally figured the reason was because the other three were just eating all the rosie's and Feeder was only getting blood worms and mysis shrimp. So this is why I call this little guy Feeder. Everytime I would come back home and check on them Feeder is so small that he can literaly get into the feeder container I keep. So YES he likes to swim with the Feeders. Knowing this I assumed he had to be eating what ever rosies he could but no he was to small and I guess he wouldn't even try. I found out from a friend that they had tiny guppies which he ate and I am still getting him to take really small feeders. Ill post pics of him later when I get a chance. WARNING this little guy is small. And yes I am feeding him exclusivly daily. I kind of have too.

I said all this to give you a outlook on my BIG QUESTION? What could these Cichla be and if Tem's what kind could they be? Still curious to see how this is going to turn out.

Man he's small this picture was taking about a week ago. And yes he is still this small. I mixed all the baby P's together today and he is the odd man out. Out of 15 Cichla he's the loner.

Ok I have been driving myself crazy. If anyone has 3'' or smaller pics of Temensis please post up. Paul do you have any pics of the Temensis we had?

Sorry for your loss. Here are real C. temensis from the Orinoco in VZ near where intermedia can be found. They were about 2 inches in these photos. Keep them for future reference. True intermedia can easily be IDed when they hit the 2.5 to 3-inch mark. They will look more like Xingu bass and can show as many as 7 stripes, but as few as 4 or 5. FYI of course.
