What is up with the pricing on Caiman Lizards? 3 months ago they were going for $1700 each and I just seen some on KingSnake for $600? Is it because they are in season or what?

could be that or sometimes prices will drop like that if a big shipment of imports comes in beleive.

Has there been price drop like that before and it went back up or is this permanent? Dropping 2/3's of the price in 3 months doesn't make sense even if it is in season.
there have been several large shipments coming in from a captive breeding farm someplace in peru. The market is now flooded with them and i am predicting in another year, they will be as cheap as a leopard gecko.
i dont think it will be good, because it will mean that it now wont only be more available to people like you that would keep them responsibly but then every dumbass thinking they are cool will have one in a 50g tankozz465;3950379; said:

yeah i didnt question whether you would be a responsible keeper, and i totally agree its awesome when those of us that would give them good home but not a lot of extra cash can finally afford the animal, i was just putting it out there that its a double edged sword, but would def be sweet if they became more availableozz465;3950475; said:
I think this is terrible news. they will probably end up being like "black throat" monitors. Way cheap, and every little brat and dumbass will snatch one up cause they are cheap, and wonder why it diead a month later. After keeping it in a 20 lon with a water bowl and 150 watt heat lamp. this is terrible. only the experts should obtain animals such as this!
