Caimen

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't believe caimens are legal in IL. I used to live in Chicagoland and remember reading news stories every blue moon about how they would catch a croc or gator in the Chicago River - they always figured it was released by someone keeping it as a pet.

Based on that, I would think that IL lawmakers would jump on the opportunity to limit rights.

This goes back about a decade+ but I do remeber The Chicago Reptile House having a dwarf for sale. Still remember a mom buying it for her 10 year old son.:banghead: So don't know if things have changed in that time but thought they were legal.

Thanks silent bob yeah it's been about 13 years since I've owned one so I know since then they've banned all types of things in Illinois, but yeah it's always people that don't know what they're doing that would get them banned, but since it's a cold state here we don't have to worry about them being invasive, but they make bans on anything just to do it

Not legal in Illinois. All croc and alligator species including Caiman got banned a number of years ago.

They banned them because the gov knows better than you.

As for aggressive, yeah you could say that. LOL. And an indoor pond??? Dwarfs prefer land over water.

I didn't quite understand the comment about the government knowing better than me, I guess I can agree to disagree with you, cause I sure don't believe in a lot of what the government does, but as far as your other comment do you have any caimen, and if so what. Kind and what kind of enclosure

I was being sarcastic....

As for do I have one, yeah. I have a 29" female trig. As for what cage, you must be new here. Lol.
