True but with the talk of copperheads, gaboons, etc I figured I throw in a little more of a "warm" w/nasty disposition snake.

I've had my ATB for over 2 years and I haven't had any problems.

not a problem whatsoever with my lil devil either!!!:D

actually never heard of these ATB problems!!

Maybe its only with W/C? I dunno, a few people were really ripping on ATB's one of them being a boa breeder (www.cloacaherps.com) who breeds really nice specimens, wich I might buy one or two of.

While there are snakes that people would consider more starter, I think it is easier to do it the other way around and work out which would be the worse of the hots to start with. I don't think a puff nor gaboon/vipers would be a particularly good starter, they can be pissy, heavily bodied not great hookers. Then there are fast snakes like the mambas. I think cobras are pretty poor choice too.

They are not going to be my true firsts, as I have said before. And the Cobra will not come for a few years after owning vipers. I know elapids are not good starters, wich is why I'm going to start with vipers and work my way up. I'm not just going to pick up a puff /gaboon, I'm going to work my way up to them aswell...

I know really old.
But i feel that i should comment.
In my youth i did a lot of things i shouldnt have. I at one time owned 2 black widows (got bit once it sucked). later on i caught several scorpions (stung 8 times)
After that i took a little break. But then i caught and kept a brown recluse shockingly i did not get bit.
Then about two years later i caught by hand a medium sized rattle snake. I let her go a week after i showed her off to the other kids at school. I took it in a large rubbermaid.

To tell you the truth i do not want any more deadly venomous animals or anymore damn scorpions. But i will definitley do probably a centipede some large spiders.

Haha with your history of getting bit/stung I'd stay away from a centipede.

I HAVE A HOGNOSE! pwnage

what about starting to post some pix of them hots?

I have a hognose too. its my picture on my profile.

See snakeyes. The only inverts that make me nervous are brown recluse spiders and centipedes.
The only reason i didnt get bit by the brown recluse was cause i was too scared to touch it.
So i figuire i will be to afraid to touch the pede. So i dont think i will get bit
