Calling all MFK Runners!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have heard of carb loading with pasta for running.

Be sure that you do eat a little something before you do run. I have a cup of coffee, a small bottle of water, and a Cliff bar. Caffeine, hydration, and a little fuel in the tank.

Make sure you stretch before running. No BS stretching either. Do a real good five minutes of stretches. Always do a few minutes of walking to cool down after the run. And then stretch again.

The night before a run test, I used to eat a good pasta dinner and a couple of beers. I would then drink as close to a gallon of water as possible. Always ran my best after that. And chew a small piece of gum to keep your mouth from drying up.

I hate chewing gum when running. it does the opposite for me. the gum sucks all the moisture

I can't chew gum while running either, I always end up almost choking on it. Some good music with a faster paced beat always helps me run a little better too. Since you're in Philly I strongly suggest getting a grey hoodie to train in while you listen to "Gonna fly now" on repeat.

Check out the Couch to 5k program... Trust me, you want to start off slow to avoid injury since its been a while. And I'm doing it know (well re-starting it) and I want some company.

This thread is getting pretty funny. The OP is only running a mile, not a marathon. LOL! I'm in my 60's and I could walk a mile in 11 minutes.

lmao, no you can't

doesn't jogging like 4mph take like 13 min?

I don't know, maybe if you're a good speedwalker

Okay Jack La Lane,we now have YouTube so lets see you walk a mike in that span of time.
