CALLING ALL MFKERS!!!! FREE MONSTER FISH TO A GOOD HOME!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok well that makes a little more sense. When the store has accidentally accepted returns from other stores and things like that, we will give it away for a donation to whatever program is going on. But thats a little steep, i'm thinking $5 is a little more reasonable.

Regardless, its cool that you are getting monsters in and finding good homes. Whenever we get adoption fish in i'm always telling people no, because as soon as they hear "free" they want it regardless of what kind of tank they have.

im not saying you are gaining by tricking people but i have not heard of a 4 ft arawana in captivity and it would be tight if you had a pic of the beast :)

I suppose some folks feel that you should have had all the facts before posting.Free is a word that excites people, esp.here in expensive Massachusetts.Remember it takes tons of food, time and electricity to take care of twenty inch fish.

Wish the petco where I lived would have the same idea. I think the biggest tank is a 90g, but for koi and fancy goldfish only. The next is a 55 display, the rest is like 10-20g. Hope you find the clowns good homes, wish I was within drivin distance. oh yeah, have you seen the aro yourself or did the guy just tell you he was four ft., I seen a 3 footer last weekend in a 300g and all I can say is, pure monster fish.

Hey everyone!

I work at Petco in Plymouth, Massachusetts (yea, petco flaming aside, i really need some help) and we always have monster fish for adoption.

I will also update when we get new monster fish in for adoption. In the past weve had an 18inch tiger oscar, a 28inch pacu, giant plecos, and pirannhas, all totally free.

So Petco lets you adopt fish that are illegal in the Commonwealth?

Well, its not that petco lets us adopt them, its that my manager has a heart for fish and knew their tanks were WAY too small. Basically he put it under the radar so theyd be happier...

And about the Aro, he showed me a picture of it on his phone so it was crap quality, but I could tellhe was around 3.5-4ft. This guy would come in to buy 150 large feeders almost every day, and hes given us several monsters, I don't doubt it for a second...

I just looked at the map again and it's just to far to do anytime soon. But I hope that aro find's a nice big home. Good luck!!!

Update: The 2 Clown Knifes are still available! The $20/ fish donation is optional, and we would rather see them go to a good home where they can swim freely than get the charity money. If there is anyone who can accomidate these beautiful fish, please call Plymouth, MA Petco ASAP to arrange for a time to pick them up! Thanks!
