What causes the blood in the fins?
I think it is a combination of stress and body injury caused by the fall and bouncing around on the floor but I am really not sure.

Thanks,I got it at about two or three inches a few years ago and it was nearly twelve inches.
 
Sorry for the loss. I’d say the stress probably took more of a toll than the actual physical damage. Black ears are hard to keep from what I read.

Mine is a slow grower too, 1.5' after 3 years. I think we get refuse from the farming culls.
