For pictures of fish in home aquariums an external flash on about any DSLR will produce awesome shots. Here's a couple of mine from a Nikon D50 (entry level DSLR) and a SB 600 flash above the tank.

Yep, I just picked up a TTL cord at the local camera shop.

id say go with a nikon d40, entry level dslr but can still do some nice pictures, its what i use. I prefer nikons, they are cheaper but lens for them are more expensive because they have the auto focus built into the lens where a cannon is more expensive because the auto focus is built into the body but the lens are cheaper

Awesome pics Rallyman..Cant wait until I pick up my D80. What kind of lense you using? I'm just picking the body and going to pick up a bad arse lense. How much did the flash run you?
