hi. i was wondering....you can use the weld on 16 to reseal acrylic tanks? i am in the process of fixing a broken acrylic tank... i already bought the acrylic stick to weld onto the corner seams... but if i could do without the stick, can the weld on 16 be used (almost like a silicon sealant for glass tanks) to seal the seams?

It all depends. Dimensions, size and location of area needing resealing, thickness of acrylic, type of fish being put into the tank all need to be taken into account. know what I mean?
Look up "acrylic weld on", "acrylic", or "reseal acrylic" in this DIY forum. You'll find alot of info and stories.

I want to send a big thank you to Chompers for helping me out with all the cutting for all of the acrylic pieces. Thanks dude. It would have taken me weeks to do all that cutting with my dremel. lol

Working on the sump.

I'm putting on the 12" x 1.5" x 3/4" acrylic supports. They will be holding up
the filter tray and the scrubbie tray.

LoL. Dont worry, I'll get to your tank.

great stuff dude, i love diy.
huge sump you have there.

Thanks dude

Quick pic.

I sealed in the 3 (3/4" x 3/4" x 3") column supports on the floor of the sump for the scrubbie tray.
You can see them to the left (The tank is standing on it's end).

If you look closely right above my head you can see where I cracked the tank. Whomever put the brace on measured wrong and sealed it too wide.
I was trying to pry off the brace and SNAP.
lol Oops. No biggy, it's acrylic. Easy fix.

Still have alot of work left. I'm trying to get it done quick. But I work all day fixing and maintaining aquariums for homes and businesses.
After dealing with that all day, coming home and working on my own tanks just isnt like it used to be....

Still needs work. But this will give you a general idea of what It will look like and how many scrubbies are going in it. That's a red scrubbie in the middle by the way.

Also, If your wondering why I have wheelchairs in the background. My roommate and I used to get completely hammered and race each other at 4 in the morning.
It started out I was collecting them to make a dining room set. 6 wheelchairs and a hospital bed converted into a table in the middle. Conversation starter type of deal. But then it eventually turned into, "You done with your 12 pack? Allright, get in your chair. It's go time." ....

We are going to need to break out the table saw again. The drip tray is going to need some supports under it.
