Can a mont.@ mang have fry together

Anyone ever see a cross between a Jag and a loisellei? I could make it happen but my male jag is 10inches and my female loisellei is only 6 and he would make short work of her in a second.

Thats where dividers come in at.........do it do it do it..... then pass the fry to me

most species closely related can hybrid! thats why oscars cant really hybridize! not much is too closely related and oscars wont just breed with any ole' fish! either!

so any closely related species should(not always) be able to breed!

africans and SA dont go well together because of the whole pH thing! i saw the venustanues(wrong spelling!) near the jag in the top!

but venustanues can look amazing when they have the right parameters! but a lot of people do it! it doesnt do too much harm just less than ideal!

Where do you guys get dividers? I've never looked for them before in petstores or anyplace else. I'm sure I could make one out of plexi glass if I had to.

Hey, to the original poster, just to touch base on the sexes of the two fish again. The Jag is the Male, you can tell by the pattern and blue/purple sheen, the Mota is female, due to the markings and very bright coloring.

But, these would be very nice. I'd take a few off your hands if and when they breed.

if you look around on most forums, there is ussally a thread on how to make them, i use a large plasitc container lid that i found.
