I'd like a new forum rule, answer the question or don't post anything, would REALLY cut down the b/s around here.

I think cutting down the b/s might be educating folks not to buy fish that need swimming pools when they know they cannot house them properly. It's called cruelty...Last time I checked this site isn't here to endorse stupid ideas...

yea man there are certain fish you can grow up and find a new home. Then there are certain fish that need a good responsible owner that knows what they are doing and can dedicate alteast 2/3 of housing for their lifespan. Who would buy a pima from you? You only have a 125 and sound decently new to the hobby. Why would they trust buying a fish that needs a 50k tank from a person that has a 125 that wanted to keep it for 2 weeks?

You would basically be dooming a fish for life. Your arowana is cutting it as well. Do yourself a favor and quit buying fish an save cash for a larger tank. That way you can stop stamp collecting. Then start fish keeping.

+1 well said.

i was wondering if i could put and aropaima gigas with me silver arowana, i only want the aropaima for about a year because i wont be able to keep it long because it will grow out any tank haha
I'm not saying you'd do it but this is how many no native species are introduced into our environment. Sounds like a bad idea to purchase this fish......................

dude lol, i would not put the arapaima in the 750, i was just asking if it is possible to put an arapaima in with my arow, you havent even answered the ? yet

I find it hard to believe that you get rid of fish afer they reach eight inches... even your silver arowana would only be with you for a month before you got rid of it.
lol, i would not get rid of my arow haha, i love it, ill get a bigger tank before i get rid of him :)

Unless you can find larger Dats they will not keep up with the growth rate of the Arrow. The Arrow may end up eating them. Look into some Pike, maybe a better choice than the PB in a 125.

Good luck with that.
Everybody wants one (including me) but only a select few can properly house one (doesn't include me). There are a select few here who have them and they are properly housed. IMHO if a fish is as long or longer than your aquarium's width then it needs a bigger home. A pima wouldn't take long to outgrow the width of a 125. To keep one for the sake of saying you've kept one is asinine.:screwy:
do you think a pike would be too big also? do they grow slow?

never got into researching pikes
