with them claiming territories, i have them by there selves in a 55 gallon tank, they took out the smaller cichlid yesterday, when they get bigger and older will they be fine together since they grew up together, and do you think a black clown knife will survive in the tank with them.

Unless they turn out to be a pair, then I doubt these two will get along together in a 55 gallon when they are full-grown. Usually adult male Texas are territorial (mine is psychotic), and some male JDs can be pretty aggressive too.

Seeing as they're so small, they'll probably do ok together for a time, but you may run into issues as they mature. Keep us updated! Very pretty fish... :)

But yea it does seem like a jack Dempsy + Texas.

Its very eye appealing. Enjoy them :)

yeah, i can see the texas and dempsy in the fish....very nice looking. Oh for your question on whether they will live together. I would think they will be fine, considering the end size of each of those fish, expect these to reach 10 inches or a touch more....When raised young, i bet they'll be fine together. Get a couple small silver dollars and toss them in with'em as dithers
