whres the money coming from again???

but thank you for providing some info.

When I first learned about paypal I was very reluctant too. After talking with other people and their experiences I now feel like its a pretty secure way of transfering money from one person to another.

Think of it as an electronic internet middleman.

Do you have any other questions?

Paypal is a company started by Ebay to facilitate transfer of funds electronically between people buying and selling on the interweb without having to give out your credit card information to a stranger.

They are a legit company and not some sort of scam. You just have to be careful with what's called "phishing". "Phishing" is fake emails that look exactly like real ones from Paypal, only they claim there's a security concern with your account (like someone is trying to access your account that's not authorized). They ask you to follow a link and enter your password. It will look like the real Paypal email and the link provided will look like the real Paypal site. It's a scam.

Paypal will NEVER ask for your password in an email. You will get emails from time to time from scammers asking for your Paypal password claiming there's a serious problem with your Paypal account (everybody gets them, you can forward them to Paypal's security center or just delete them). Do not follow any links in these kinds of emails and DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE NO MATTER HOW SERIOUS THE EMAIL SOUNDS OR HOW OFFICIAL IT LOOKS. PAYPAL WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD IN AN EMAIL OR ASK YOU TO CLICK ON A LINK WHERE THEY THEN WANT YOU TO LOG IN WITH YOUR PASSWORD.

Only use Paypal by physically typing in "http...www.paypal.com" in the address window and make sure wehn it comes up that it says "https....paypal.com". The "s" means you are on Paypal's secure server and not a "mirror" site that looks completely real set up by Nigerian scammers.

I can't stress this enough. I've known more than one pretty smart person fooled by these scam emails who's bank account got cleaned out.

Long story short, Paypal is a great way to pay for stuff from regular joe sixpack types on the interweb without giving out your bank account/credit card information. It doesn't cost anything to pay others, only to accept funds from someone else. There are also protections in place should someone not send you what you paid for.

Good luck, you'll need it, lol.:D

Paypal was acquired by ebay but it was its own entity founded separately from ebay before it was aquired.

Only problem I have ever had with pay-pal is when I purchased my Lei from Kory and looked at a bank statement about a week later and realized that pay-pal was charging me a dollar a day for some unknown reason.:irked:

I never figured out what was going on but I just canceled my pay-pal membership and it stopped.

Aside from that I have never had any trouble and would personally not let that small mishap deter me from transferring money through pay-pal in the future, however as a side note after any future dealings with pay-pal I will be closing my account shortly after the money has been transferred.;)
