Can Anyone Explain to Me what PAYPAL is?

You can tie your paypal and bank acount together for conveniance but I don't recomend doing that unless you have a specific aquarium account set aside. My wife and I plan on doing that in the near future...
Paypal is safe and relitivly simple to use...they can also help arbitrate disputes.

So do you have to have some kind of credit card to join paypal or a just a savings account would do???

Theyll use a bank account but I go through my credit card for extra security.Visa has helped me in a few disputes(not paypal) over the years

Well i just want to buy these fish thats all,so could i just use my bank account(savings account)for this one time and then cancel my membership....????

Paypal is pretty secure. If you want to make it even more secure just make sure you change your password once a month or so. Another way is to set up a bank account that you could have say $50 in and only use that for paypal transactions, that way if the worst came to the worse you wouldnt be lossing a terrable ammount of money.

Well, they are evil socially and politically, they provide bank like services and like to act like a bank, but aren't regulated by federal/state banking laws. They lock accounts, take money out, freeze things, etc. and you can't get in touch wiht a person to get it all straight.

However, safe-for-the-buyer wise, technologically they are OK, they are actually a little more pro-buyer than pro-seller, but don't let them attach to your checking/savings/etc. account - use that prepaid one -just put money on it when you want to use it to buy something.

I have my paypal account tied to my checking account. I found it to be a great tool for money transfers in auctions, etc. I also have my check card tied to the account.
I have never experienced any negative problems with paypal, except when I got my paypal master card I for got the pin number on it before I even got to use it. I think I have a hole in my head or something because stuff like that gets lost all the time.....

Paypal is secure but be wise when using. Never reveal your paypal password to anyone since there are a lot of paypal fake websites that will try to sucker you to reveal your password. If you are going to make a big purchase over $50 I advise using Visa or American Express tying onto your paypal account rather than checking account. When you use your checking account paypal has too much power. But if you use your credit card they will fight against paypal for you if you ever dispute to your credit card company about receiving a defective product that was not in promised condition. Paypal really does not do jack **** for you in an event of disputing between the buyer.

Lots of opinions from different folks here.
Like most businesses, I'm sure there are mistakes made that sour the individual on the service.
My opinion (for what it's worth) is good. I have had an account for quite awhile, and have had no issues at all. They did help on a dispute, they did offer a refund/credit on the item in the event I did not get it, and have been available on the phone for help if needed.
A little reluctant at first as well, but all in all, a good quick easy way to transfer money.
