My old female (RIP) looked better than most males I have seen. Females do get that bright.
 
Mumtron your wrong about the sexing of GT's! ... Pyramid your right, if it was male it would be completely evident
 
To end your quarrels it is 100% a male because i recently purchased the other one like I mentioned and they deffinitely did not pair up and the new one became the dominant fish. I had to get rid of the one in this thread.

If it was male it would have more of a hump on its forehead (nuchal hump/ cok). Plus the fins would be a lot longer on a 5.5/ 6" fish. Besides, I've seen really pretty females too when they are kept really happy and this one looks to be.

female, males dont have the two bars around the black spot. NO venting was performed so no one will ever know for sure what it is.
