Can anyone tell me what fish this is?

My parents brought this fish at a LFS, but i got no idea what it is..
Can anyone help me out on the name etc?..

This is a juvie Bay Snook, Petenia splendida. HERE are some pics of this species, including the normal colored and the red morph (Red bay Snook). Your juvie can be of both varieties if it's around 3-4 inches long. If it's bigger than 4 inches, it's probably the normal-colored morph. In this article you'll find some useful info on this species. I'm pretty sure mine will be the normal-colored morph as it's 5 inches long at the moment.

i just got 2 of them. theyre a really cool little fish and go crazy at feeding time. BTW where abouts in NSW do you come from? im from byron bay (near lismore on the north coast)

Males to about 18" females abit more than 1 foot, not super aggressive but predatory and they are reported to get territorial as they get older.

Hey Pat, yeah i just brought another one today just to make up a pair of them. :D i'm from Fairfield which is inner west from sydney.
