can exodon really go in a 29 gallon?

You don't want celestial pearl danios unless you're doing a tank for nano fish because the bigger fish will make them hide all the time and you won't see them. Back when I had a krib with mine I never saw the celestial pearl danios. Once I moved him out I see him all the time.
Also I wouldn't do 40 tetras in a standard 29.
Also maybe the shark and dojo loaches shouldn't be in the cube. I have a 6 inch rainbow shark and those loaches can hit 8 inches in time.
The cherry barbs are a schooling fish.
Kuhli loaches are an extremely active fish and in my experience I'd say even a 4 foot tank isn't big enough for them let along a 30 inch tank. Just my personal opinion though.

hmmmmmmm, ok, uh, i really don't know what to do tbh then, I really messed up but I seem to have been doing fine, my loaches are quite active too, my fish all seem healthy, nothing has ich or parasites and they all eat and socialize perfectly fine, I guess I'll have to get another test kit to test it again, my shark is around the 6 inch mark too and he is doing fine, my loaches are maybe 4 inches and are the happiest fish I've ever had. would there be any signs that they are sick/getting sick because you said that my fish are probably just slowly getting sick

oh, ok. I looked up signs of nitrate poisoning and not one of them has been seen in any of the fish and I do not have any significant algae growth, I think I might just keep up on more water changes rather than removing some of the fish to other tanks because the tetras would eat guppy fry

if you throw some low light plants in, change about 15% to 20% of your water in that tank every 3 or 4 days your nitrates will run about a steady 10 to 20ppm. another way to drop them and help maintain them is to do a 50% water change now and use some purigen from seachem in your filter. then you could probably get away with no plants and drop 20% every other week maybe

No idea how your fish aren't dropping like flies with 100-200ppm nitrates. I'm thinking you mis-read the test, pretty sure their gills would be curling at this point. IDK man, both tanks stocks sound wayyyy to heavy to me, but you seem to think your doing fine. And don't seem to want advice, so good luck!

Get your water tested by an LFS or post a picture of results of the test kit on here. Like other people have said the fish should be dead or close to it.
